Superficies múltiples, 2011 – 2018

 

Using a stretcher smaller than the canvas, only the stretched portion of the fabric is worked on while the extra strips of fabric are left to absorb the marks of the process of painting, studio dust and debris, paint and water. Various layers of paint are applied, each partially removed by water before it dries completely. Once this “controlled image” is finished, the canvas is then stretched on a frame of its size, incorporating the other accidental image onto the surface.
