Desequilibrio y Movilidad (Instability and Mobility)

This site-specific piece uses the particular architecture of an old parking lot which now houses the annual Nuevos Nombres exhibition taking place in the Museo de Arte del Banco de la República in Bogotá. Generally, this space has been used as a laboratory for creative processes, a place for workshops as well as residency-based exhibitions. By adhering a large piece of fabric onto one of the niches, remnants of old parking lot paint as well as previous exhibitions was torn from the corner of the wall and part of a column, leaving an imprint on the surface. The fabric “wall” was then displaced to the front of the space and turned upside down. Another smaller piece remains partly adhered to one of the columns, revealing parts of the imprint as well as parts of the “stolen paint”.
